Editorial Policy

How we research

Prices come from the method on how we collect prices. Claims about devices come from the FDA's own pages and databases, which we open and read on the day we write. Claims about evidence come from published studies we have opened, and we cite them with their PubMed numbers. If we cannot check a statement against a source, we do not publish it.

What we do not publish

• Reviews, star ratings or testimonials, ours or anyone's.
• Before-and-after photos.
• Rankings of clinics.
• Promises about results, or advice about your own care.

Updates

Every page shows the date it was last reviewed. Price pages also show the date their prices were checked, and they age out as described in the method. When a regulator updates something we cite, we update the page and the date.

Conflicts of interest

We earn money in one way today: a partner clinic may compensate us when we pass on a contact request. If affiliate programs are added later, we may also earn a commission on purchases made through marked links. Neither changes what we publish about prices, and clinics cannot pay to appear in a sample. This could still tempt us to favor treatment over doing nothing. We guard against it by publishing method, sample size and date for every figure.

Medical review

No physician reviews our pages at present. We do not name a reviewer who does not exist. If that changes, we will publish the reviewer's name, specialty, license number and the date of review.

Corrections

If you find a mistake, tell us through the contact page. We correct it, change the page's review date and keep a note of what changed.
